I DECIDE
HOW IT IS SEEN
I photograph not isolated subjects, but relationships between things, people and space.
Point of view, scale, negative space and focus are not technical devices to me; they shape meaning and reveal the observer’s position.
What stands before the camera is not always what the photograph is about. Often, what happens around it matters more.
I do not try to show a subject at its best. I decide how the viewer will see it.
